Meteorites are pieces of asteroids and other bodies such as Moon and Mars that travel through space and fall to the earth. They are basically rocks from space that are commonly 4.5 billion years old or greater. Meteorites are considered sacred and is esteemed in some cultures around the world.

This is a fine piece of Sikhote Alin Meteorite specimen which fell onto earth on the Sikhote-Alin Mountains, in southeastern Russia, in 1947. An estimated 23 tonnes of fragments survived the fiery passage through the atmosphere and reached the Earth. It is considered an Iron Meteorite as it contained 93% of iron in it.
