Bismuth is a heavy and brittle metal that is silvery-white with an iridescent hue, or with rainbow sheens. Bismuth has been known from ancient times, as early as the 1660s, although until the 18th century it was often confused with lead and tin, which share some physical properties. It is one of the first 10 metals to have been discovered. Bismuth is often formed like steps or pyramids due to faster growth at the outside edges. They are often lab grown from electronic grade highly refined bismuth, and are common in Germany and USA.
