This is a fine piece of Sikhote Alin Meteorite specimen which fell onto earth on the Sikhote-Alin Mountains, in southeastern Russia, in 1947. An estimated 23 tonnes of fragments survived the fiery passage through the atmosphere and reached the Earth. It is considered an Iron Meteorite as it contained 93% of iron in it.
